Winner of Cannes Lions Grand Prix (Digital Craft, 2018) | Premiered at Microsoft Reactor and
Mixed Reality Capture Studio

A collaboration with two-time GRAMMY Award winning artist Billy Corgan for his single “Aeronaut” off the solo album “Ogilala.”

“Aeronaut” is one of the first to feature a hologram created with Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture technology, used to capture Corgan’s performance in volumetric video, while incorporating innovative technologies from Google and Unity.

This 2D (Web, TV, Mobile, etc) content was created inside the 3D world that was imagined by San Francisco artist and filmmaker Danny Bittman and brought to life by Isobar and our team at Viacom NEXT. By capturing Corgan’s three-and-a-half-minute performance in volumetric video at Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Capture Studios, we were able to use Tilt Brush and Unity’s creation engine to create a world around him.

The project is designed for room scale systems, initially for Microsoft’s Mixed Reality headsets, with additional versions for other systems to follow. It will be available to the public in early 2018.
